Kathiyawadi Pyas
Ingredients
- 400 gm Baby Onion - peeled
- ¾ cup Peanut / வேர்க் கடலை - roasted
- 10 pod Garlic / பூண்டு
- 2 tbsp Coriander powder / மல்லித் தூள்
- 2 tbsp Red Chili powder / மிளகாய்த் தூள்
- 1 tsp Cumin powder / சீரகத் தூள்
- ½ tsp Turmeric powder / மஞ்சள் தூள்
- 4 tbsp Coriander leaves, Fresh / கொத்தமல்லி - chopped
- 4 tbsp Oil / எண்ணெய்
- 1 tsp Salt / உப்பு - (adjust to your taste)
Instructions
- Slit into 4 parts keeping base intact
- Coarsely grind roasted peanuts, garlic, coriander powder, red chili powder, cumin powder, turmeric powder, salt
- Add chopped coriander, mix with oil until a crumbly texture
- Carefully fill the above mixture into each baby onion
- Heat remaining oil in a non-stick pan
- Place the stuffed onions on the surface of the pan, let it cook on low heat for 5~10min
- Add about a ¼cup of water, add the remaining stuffing mix
- Close cook for about 10min
- Sauté occasionally if required in between
