Idli Milagai Podi
Ingredients
- 1 cup Urad Dhal / உளுத்தம் பருப்பு
- 1 cup Red Chili, Dry / வற மிளகாய்
- 1 cup Sesame seed, Black / எள்ளு, கருப்பு
- ¼ cup Chana Dhal / கடலைப் பருப்பு
- 1 tsp Salt / உப்பு
- 1 pinch Asafoetida / பெருங்காயம்
Instructions
- Dry roast channa dhal, urad dhal, sesame, dry red chili separately
- Allow it cool
- Grind dry red chili into fine powder first
- Then grind channa dhal, urad dhal along with red chili powder
- Then finally grind sesame
- Transfer into a bowl
- Add asafoetida, salt and mix well
- Store in an airtight container
- Serve along with idli or dosai
Notes
Variation * If you don't like dark color due to black sesame, you may use white sesame
