Plain (layered) Paratha
Ingredients
- 5 cup Wheat flour (atta)
- ¼ cup Wheat flour (atta) - to be used while spreading
- 120 ml Oil / எண்ணெய்
- ½ Salt Salt / உப்பு
- 5 tbsp Ghee / நெய்
Instructions
- Knead wheat flour with 2tbsp of ghee into a soft dough
- Allow it to rest for about 30min
- Divide the dough into 8 ~10 pieces
- Take a piece and roll like a thin chapatti, as thin as possible
- Spread 2tsp of ghee over the chapatti
- Fold it into ½inch flaps, similar to paper fan
- Roll it into a spiral
- Roll this into 6~7inch diameter
- Cook the paratha in a hot tawa, applying oil on both sides
- Serve hot with any gravies
