Ingredients
  

  • 1 tsp Saffron / குங்குமப் பூ
  • 2 cup Basmati Rice / பாசுமதி அரிசி
  • 2 nos Onion / வெங்காயம் - sliced
  • 2 tbsp Ghee / நெய்
  • 2 tbsp Butter / வெண்ணெய்
  • 1 tsp Cumin powder / சீரகத் தூள்
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon powder
  • 1 tsp Black Pepper powder / மிளகுத்தூள்
  • 1 tsp Red Chili powder / மிளகாய்த் தூள்
  • 2 nos Bay leaf, Dry
  • ½ cup Cashew nut / முந்திரிப் பருப்பு - toasted
  • 1 tsp Salt / உப்பு - adjust to your taste

Instructions
 

  • Soak saffron strands in litle warm water
  • Heat ghee in a pan
  • Add onion and sauté until translucent
  • Add bay leaves
  • Add butter, pepper, red chili powder, salt, cumin powder, cinnamon powder and mix well
  • Add about 3cups of water and allow it to boil
  • When boiling add rice and cook in simmer until rice is tender
  • If rice is uncooked add little more water and continue cooking
  • Add roasted cashew and mix well
  • Serve hot
