Tomato Rice
Ingredients
- 2 cup Rice / அரிசி - cooked
- 3 nos Tomato / தக்காளி - diced
- 2 nos Onion / வெங்காயம் - finely chopped
- 5 nos Garlic / பூண்டு - minced
- 1 inch piece Ginger / இஞ்சி - minced
- 2 nos Green Chili, Fresh / பச்சை மிளகாய் - long slit
- ½ cup Green Peas, Fresh / பச்சைப் பட்டாணி
- 2 tbsp Sambar Masala powder
- 2 tbsp Curd / தயிர்
- 1 tsp Mustard seed / கடுகு
- 1 tsp Turmeric powder / மஞ்சள் தூள்
- 2 tsp Salt / உப்பு - adjust to your taste
- 1 pinch Asafoetida / பெருங்காயம்
- 1 tbsp Oil / எண்ணெய்
- 1 bunch Curry leaves, Fresh / கருவேப்பிலை
- 1 bunch Coriander leaves, Fresh / கொத்தமல்லி
- 10 nos Cashew nut / முந்திரிப் பருப்பு - roasted in ghee
Instructions
- Heat oil in a pan
- Temper mustard in it
- Add green chili, curry leaves and fry well
- Add onion and sauté well until raw smell vanishes
- Add garlic and ginger sauté well until golden brown
- Add turmeric powder, asafoetida, sambar powder and mix well
- Add tomato and sauté well until mushy
- Add cooked rice and mix well and cook in low flame for 2~3min
- Garnish with coriander leaves, roasted cashew nuts
- Serve hot with potato fry curry
