Ingredients
  

  • 2 cup Chayote Squash Peel
  • ½ tsp Chana Dhal / கடலைப் பருப்பு
  • 2 tbsp Urad Dhal / உளுத்தம் பருப்பு
  • 3~5 nos Red Chili, Dry / வற மிளகாய்
  • 1 cup Coconut, Fresh / தேங்காய் - grated
  • 1 tsp Sesame Oil / நல்லெண்ணெய்
  • ½ inch ball Tamarind / புளி
  • 1 pinch Asafetida / பெருங்காயம்
  • 1 tsp Salt / உப்பு

Instructions
 

  • Heat ½tsp sesame oil in a pan
  • Add channa dhal, urad dhal and fry until golden brown
  • Add dry red chili and fry until fragrant - keep aside
  • Add ½tsp sesame oil in the same pan
  • Add chayote squash peel and fry until it wilts
  • Add tamarind and fry well
  • Add asafoetida and mix well
  • Allow it cool
  • Grind above in a mixer into a fine paste
  • Transfer into a bowl
  • Add salt and mix well

Notes

Serve along with Rotis and/or rice
